The Gurmani Centre for Languages and Literature held a condolence gathering in memory of Professor Dr. Sayeda Arfa Zehra, bringing together her students, colleagues, friends, and admirers who wished to remember her with affection and gratitude. Many of her former students attended and spoke about the way she shaped their early years—how she encouraged them to step into the world with confidence and liveliness. One participant noted and mentioned that the auditorium in which the gathering was held was the same hall where she used to conduct her classes, a detail that gave the evening an unexpected sense of closeness.

Colleagues from Government College for Women, Gulberg, where she had served as Principal, shared how deeply her presence had influenced the environment of the institution. They recalled the atmosphere she nurtured through her commitment to teaching and her thoughtful way of guiding both students and staff. Her friends spoke about her fondness for Lahore, its food, its old streets, and the simple pleasure she took in walking through the Walled City. These recollections brought forth a picture of someone who knew how to enjoy the world around her.

There were also those who had never met her but had grown up watching her on PTV. They described how her voice and manner had become woven into their early memories, shaping their understanding of language, culture, and public expression. Listening to them, it was evident how far her influence travelled, reaching homes and minds well beyond the classrooms she taught in.

Story after story revealed how naturally Dr. Arfa Zehra had become a meaningful presence in the lives of so many. The gathering became a shared space of remembrance, filled with the sense of someone whose presence continues to live on in the memories and words of those who learned from her, worked with her, or simply listened to her from afar.
